Iditarod Trail Invitational 2009
Another successful race just finished up on the Iditarod Trail, Alaska.
Out of 45 racers 28 finished the 350 mile race to McGrath and out of 18 signed up in the 1100 mile race 6 finished in Nome on the Bering Coast.
Kathi Hirzinger-Merchant became the first female cyclist to finish the 1100 mile race in 25 days 12 hours and 58 minutes.
Entries are open for 2009 with a 50 racer limit
Competitors need to have sufficient cold weather skills and be experienced in ultra winter... Read More...

Todays stage of the Oman Adventure 2007 brought the first real demarcation between the teams. This evening, at the high-altitude bivouac at Jabal Shams, nine of the teams are still competing in the extreme category, while the two others have chosen to revert to adventure, stopping at CP6 today, as allowed for by the rules. The first day of the Oman Adventure 2007 turned out to be a cleverly balanced mix of trekking and bike and run.
