My father in law has been a 25 year alcoholic, and the doctor has convinced him to stop. His liver is still about 30 percent operational, but the doctors say like they do not know what type of diet or vitamin supplements he should take to help with functionality. Even the dieticians are stumped. QUACKS!

JLO asked:

He gets heartburn at least once a week, sometimes more often. I’m concerned because I’ve seen the effects of heartburn and acid reflux left untreated, as my uncle had this and ended up getting esophogus cancer. I would like my boyfriend to see a doctor to rule out any major medical issues, and get treatment. But he doesn’t want to see a doctor, how to I make him go?

My boyfriend is experiencing a decreased *** drive due to medication he is taking (Atenolol) and everytime I try to talk to him about it, he gets angry and accuses me of being insensitive. How can I approach the situation and, more importantly, is there anything I can do to alleviate it?
He’s actually taking Atenolol because of his heart problems.
He is 26 years old.
